Our work with Indigenous Peoples and UN human rights bodies

For many years we have accompanied the UN Working Group on Indigenous Peoples (Geneva), and supported indigenous delegates in their work for human rights. The UN Working Group ended with the adoption of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples by the UN General Assembly on 13 September 2007.
We continue to work with indigenous peoples to ensure that the Declaration of their Rights is implemented.

Human Rights and Environment

Here we link to pages and articles on the environment and human rights that provide information on the work of environmental and human rights defenders worldwide.

The UN defines environmental human rights defenders as "individuals and groups working personally or professionally and in a peaceful manner to protect and promote human rights relating to the environment, including water, air, land, flora and fauna".
